Transition to Fall in Style by Jill Myrick (SMIJ)

It's back to school, less than a month til football season and the late afternoon shadows are changing just the slightest bit to indicate Fall is around the corner. All of this also means we can start transitioning our closets to Fall looks. Hi, ImJill Myrick, a H U G E fan of Henry & Pearl, designer behind SMIJ by Jill and honored to be a Guest Blogger for H&P.  This month I'm talking transition. Personally I've put away my shorts and am excited to embrace Fall colors and cuts.  The problem is that it's 2,000 degrees outside!  I tossed on a transitional look and headed to Henry & Pearl to see what I could find.

Turns out Henry & Pearl had lots of options to help us get in the Fall mood without passing out from heat exhaustion.
I'm sharing my four favorite transitional looks. Grab one for back to school activities!
First, I love what I consider late summer colors for August.

For me, those include browns, plums, darker oranges and golds. They remind me of the colors of the sunset as we say good-bye to summer.
I love this tank with stretchy bell bottoms for August/September. The top is a great summer fabric and cut, but in a nice Fall color.

Next, I found this great option. It's a new arrival and its in the color of the season, olive. It's a fun suede-look fabric, but it's still lightweight and even has short sleeves. Add some boots and a jacket as the weather changes and this dress will serve you well all season long.

My very favorite option during transitional seasons is a dress and cute jacket combo. This sundress and Moto jacket combo is perfection. It's got a summer vibe with a little Fall edginess to balance it perfectly between the two seasons.

Below is another great sundress/jacket combo, again in the color of the season. This olive jacket will be worn again and again, I'm sure. I can already see it with jeans and boots, too.

Here is a trend I'm loving! Baseball tees are in for Fall and, with their 3/4 sleeves and lightweight fabric, definitely make the transitional outfit favorites list. Pair them with these pull-on, stretchy bell bottoms and some sandals and you'll look on-trend heading into Fall.

And, finally, as those evenings temps start to drop a bit, this combo will be perfect. Again, lightweight with 3/4 sleeves to keep you the perfect temp, but add some boots and you've got a great Fall look. Until the temps drop, this dress will look great with the new booties Henry & Pearl just put out or the Sam Edelman platform sandals also in stock. This dress will be a Fall workhorse - and, I think I remember, it's also under $100.

Don't miss an opportunity to transition to Fall stylishly. Stop into Henry & Pearl and grab a transition look - or two.
